The Woman's Club of Riverhead Scholarship Recipient

The Woman’s Club of Riverhead was formed Oct. 9, 1912 and continues to be an active organization as of today, 100 years later.
At this time one purpose is to conduct a scholarship program to aid High School Seniors with their college expenses. Each year the Woman’s Club awards four, $1,000.00 Scholarships to recipients in the areas of: music, art, education and science.
Highschools that are eligible to apply for the scholarship are:
Shoreham-Wading River
Hampton Bays
Westhampton Beach
Riverhead
Mattituck-Cutchogue
Southold
Greenport

The Woman’s Club is also very involved with many endeavors including donations to:
Suffolk County Historical Society
East End Arts Council
N.Y. State Federation Student Aid Fund, etc.
Hallockville, Inc.

The Woman’s Club of Riverhead is proud of having formulated the establishment of:
The Riverhead Free Library
The Red Cross Unit
First School Nurse Program
Work of the Industrial Home for the Blind
Riverhead First Kindergarten Program

The Woman’s Club of Riverhead has also been involved in many other programs in the Community.

Our commitment has kept this club going for 100 years; and hopefully, we will take The Woman’s Club of Riverhead through the next 100 years.
